Sandra Fleming
Literacy specialist for 30 years. Designs and implements academic skills programs for students from pre-readiness through the high school level. She’s been a classroom teacher, online tutor and Girl Scout troop leader. Sandy holds a Masters in Education from Indiana University at South Bend.
Heather Long
1st grade teacher and writer from Austin Texas. She has 10 years of teaching experience, and specializes in Elementary Education, Special Education and ESL. Heather holds a M.A. in Special Education from University of Texas Austin.
Renee Fried
Communications Director for a Los Angeles independent school before embarking on her writing career. She’s created content for pre-K through 12 as well as marketing materials for parents and teachers. She Holds a B.A. in Child Development from UCLA.

Writer/Editor. Most of the material she is written is Science based which makes her our go-to writer in those areas. She holds a M.A. in English and Creative Writing from San Francisco State University.
Kimberly Hutmacher
Author of 25 books for children as well as the writer of many articles for educational publishers like Capstone Press and Rourke Publishing. Kimberly teaches a writing course for adults called “Beyond Jack and Jill: A Study in Great Children’s Poetry”, has taught at a Homeschool Coop, and teaches workshops sponsored by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Kimberly holds a degree in General Education.
Blake Buford
Emmy Award nominated writer and TV news producer from Los Angeles, California. Currently, he is the Editor in Chief of Journalizm.org. Blake specializes in newspaper writing, which makes him perfect for the fact-based articles on our site. In addition to his writing and editing endeavors, Blake is an active volunteer and advocate for animal rescue in LA and has worked with disabled children in Peru. Blake holds a B.A. in English from U.C., Santa Barbara.
